    een fantastische site.

    Ik ben een beginnende whiskyliefhebber.Maar ik schrik af en toe van de prijzen van de whisky’s die jij lekker vind.
    Blijkbaar zijn de beste ook de duurste?

    Heb jij de glenfiddich rich oak al geproefd?Ben benieuwd hoeveel punten die haalt op jou schaal.

    bedankt voor de lovende woorden. Nee, de Glenfiddich Rich Oak heb ik nog niet geproefd.
    Gho ja, die whiskypareltjes zijn vaak erg zeldzame en/of niet al te goedkope flessen (leeftijd, beschikbaarheid, reputatie, het bepaalt de prijs natuurlijk). Pas op, er zijn voldoende ‘stunners’ te vinden hoor, flessen met een sterke prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Voor 40/50 euro vind je echt wel (erg) lekkere whisky.

    Als beginnend Whisky drinker vraag ik me af welke je zou willen aanraden in het 40-60 euro segment? Bij voorkeur single malts, non chill-filtered & niet gekarameliseerd. Turf is welkom, niet te zwaar. Van wat ik ken, bevallen o.a. Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg 10, Caol Ila 12 cask strength, Laphroaig QC, en de blend Black Bottle 10.

    Mooi overzicht met heldere smaaknotities. Wel opvallend dat er overduidelijk een trend zichtbaar is dat de oudere (en ook duurdere) whiskys’s hoger scoren. Dit geldt ook voor de zeldzame bottelings. Dit is een trend die ik zelf absoluut niet herken, ook makkelijk verkrijgbare en jonge whisky’s kunnen zeer goed zijn, daar waar oudere whisky’s waar je een vermogen voor betaald soms werkelijk niet lekker zijn. Maar dat is mijn ervaring.

      Die mening deel ik volkomen met je: Bijvoorbeeld Port Ellen werd op een gegeven moment wel erg over het paard getild. Zelf kwam ik ooit met een simpele “Ledaig” in aanraking die rond de € 20,– kostte. Helaas bij ons niet meer verkrijgbaar maar die had met gemak voor een beduidend hoger bedrag kunnen gaan. Nog wel volop te krijgen is de 10 jaar oude versie: Betaalbaar en uitstekend te drinken.

      Ben ik ook met je eens, vind bepaalde scoren zelfs wat schokkend.
      Denk dat je beter de scores niet helemaal serieus moet nemen.
